Vine

This Vine was based on one of the segment I wrote on how diaries were my first experience with personal writing. The segment:

My first experience with my own personal writing came when I got my first diary in 2nd grade. It was a Lisa Frank diary. It was very pink and purple had a unicorn on it. It came with a lock for security purposes. I remember being obsessed with that diary, constantly writing my second grade problems in there and the name of whatever boy I thought was cute that week in a heart. I remember while I was writing I would shut it before anyone who was walking by could see what I was writing. I locked it and stashed it away after each time I wrote in it. I’ve had a lot of diaries since. I’ve never been able to fully complete one. I usually write in them on my saddest days when I want to get a everything or my happiest that I want to look back on and remember. I’ve lost a lot of those journals because I’ve moved around a lot but I still have that Lisa Frank diary and I still read it occasionally to laugh at the things I cared about and the “problems” I had in 2nd grade.

I wanted the Vine to show me writing in a diary and how protective I was of it. It turned out to be a little wacky but I thought it was funny so I kept it. I wanted the Vine to show someone trying to look at my diary so I thought the best way to convey someone approaching was with the Jaws music. I didn’t want anyone to be confused by the concept of the Vine. At the end I was supposed to yell “My Secrets!” in a 2nd grade voice but it turned out to be really high pitched. I think it came out well.
